What will be your source…?

January 23, 2013

“Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105 Holman Christian Standard

What will you use for “light” today? What will help you see through all the layers and circumstances you are facing in your life? Where will you turn when the demands of this day drain your resources? Jesus gave you a promise about His life: If you will make Him the foundation and source of your life, He will make your life flow with the “living waters” of His Spirit. Those are more than just words. He will refresh you .. restore you .. and renew you as you look to Him first and trust His faith-filled promise. Jesus knew firsthand what walking in darkness looked like in the lives and faces of men and women. His response was an invitation to “come to Me”. He knows what real thirst looks like firsthand. He knows the dry and thirsty areas of your life. He knows how His life will be “light” in your life as you face moments of darkness .. or sometimes an even longer period of trust. He knows it isn’t easy. Taking time to come to Jesus always seems at first glance to be not the right time. There is always someone or something trying to get you to leave Christ out of the picture. And why would you when He has promised to replenish the weariness in your heart .. soul .. and spirit? Where are you going to turn today? It only takes a moment …

“If anyone is thirsty, he should come to Me and drink! The one who believes in Me, as the Scriptures has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him. … I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.” John 7:37-38, 8:12 Holman Christian Standard

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
