“For me, living is Christ and dying is gain.” Philippians 1:21 Holman Christian Standard

If you are going to live a Christ-filled life, you will find yourself facing a moment of letting go of the life you have to receive the life Jesus has for you. It may happen during a dark period in your life. It may have already happened. Maybe you were on the “list” when Christ found you. And maybe you quit living a certain way but never let go of the old life. You can try and try again to change that old life but it can’t be done. As the old Major said: “Only Christ can live the christian life because HE IS the christian life.” Paul found Christ by chasing down Christians. The life he became was worth more to him than all the levels of recognition this world has to offer. He would write to a group of quarreling Christ-followers that the life they once lived was no more. They had been “cleaned up” and given “fresh starts” by Jesus. His life washed them inside and out. His life changed their lives from rejected to absolutely acceptable. His life paid for everything they had ever done and all the hidden things within. He is the same for you today. It’s Christ’s life that makes your life worth living. You are worth it. He’s never regretted finding you .. forgiving you .. and faithfully abiding with you. He knows the places where you have wandered. He knows how you have looked at others .. judging .. condemning .. and rejecting. All of that and more is where He washes and fills you with a new heart .. new eyes .. and a new life. You are whole in Jesus Christ. Jesus won’t force you to live a life you don’t want. What He does is change you from the inside out to love the life that He is living in you. And for Christ … living in you was worth dying for. It only takes a moment …

“A number of you know from experience what I’m talking about, for not so long ago you were on that list. Since then, you’ve been cleaned up (washed) and given a fresh start (sanctified & justified) by Jesus, our Master, our Messiah, and by our God present in us, the Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 6:11 The Message (Holman Christian)

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
