What God loves to create….

February 14, 2013

“God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not banish me from your Presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore the joy of Your salvation to me, and give me a willing spirit.” Psalm 51:10-12 Holman Christian Standard

What a great way to start your day .. or stop during the day and start again in the restoring grace of Jesus. God loves when you come unguarded .. wide open .. asking nothing but His grace-filled care for your life. You don’t try to bargain, you don’t try to explain , and you don’t try to make up for all the mistakes. You simply bring the real you with all of your flaws and missteps and ask God to intervene. Is there any thing more in your life that you need than a clean heart in this polluted world? You alone know the stuff you have hidden inside your life. And God…? He’s not impressed by your performance. He’s right there at the lowest points in your life .. the places that break our heart .. and the parts inside of you starving for love. That’s where you find Jesus coming alongside your life. He’s there to give you the help .. hope .. and the love you long for when you’ve hit the bottom. What will God do? He moves in to restore his joy into your life. The only thing you can offer him is your life with no strings. A clean heart .. A steadfast spirit .. A joy-filled spirit .. A worship-filled heart .. and a life ready for love. It’s all in a prayer … and it only takes a moment …

“Going through the motions doesn’t please you, a flawless performance is nothing to you. I learned God-worship when my pride was shattered. Heart-shattered lived ready for love don’t for a moment escape God’s notice.” Psalm 51:16-17 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
