God’s time .. and your life …

February 22, 2013

“It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With His Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!” Romans 8:10-11 The Message

When God moves in? That is what happens when faith becomes real in you. God becomes “alive and present” in every area of your life. He begins shaping your life along the same lines of His Son. There are habits and patterns that air altered. Some habits that were life-controlling are washed away. Some habits are broken and defeated. A new way of life .. of living .. and of loving begins to take shape. The way you work takes a new shape. The way you look at others takes a new shape. The way you look at yourself begins to take on a new shape. It doesn’t happen overnight. God is shaping a new man and a new woman with His Spirit. It’s Christ’s life in you that is taking shape. You’ll find yourself at odds over old patterns that “used” to work and a new life that works out of grace-filled truth. It takes time and God isn’t in a hurry as you measure time. God is making a new life that trusts in His Word and in His indwelling Life. He’s making a life that doesn’t live out of condemnation .. out of self-centeredness .. and out of winning at all costs. He’s making your life. It’s no longer the world around you that tirelessly tries to convince you of what you need or what you need to do in order to be accepted. In Christ, God is making you whole inside and out. He is doing the real work and invites to join Him in what He is doing in you. He’s moved in .. He’s going room by room .. He’s not going to move out. And with Jesus… it only takes a moment …

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
