Everything and more…

March 4, 2013

“So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe — people and things, animals and atoms — get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.” Colossians 1:19-20 The Message

It took a cross to make your life spacious. It takes his to make your life roomy .. roomy enough for his Spirit to move in. The Cross is a lifetime. The Cross is everything. You can see what you’ve let-go-of so clearly. The old life you used to live .. or that held you captive .. is no longer. You’re everything has changed. Christ .. on a cross .. becomes everything. The spacious and roomy life you so desperately wanted to find on your own terms turned into broken and dislocated prices. And along comes Jesus who patiently and graciously picks up all those pieces of your life and puts you together on the cross. There is no confusion. You owe your life to Jesus. His death and his blood on the cross change everything. You’re forgiven .. sins covered.. and paid for. The life in front of you is supported by that Cross behind you .. underneath you .. and above you. The world around you laughs at it .. calls it out-dated .. tries to remove it .. and finally attacks it. Try as it might, this cross claims your life and sets you free to grow up into all the vibrant harmonies of God’s grace design. Whatever is before you this day … it only takes a moment.

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
