When nothing yields everything …

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 New American Standard

There are countless moments and situations in your everyday life that will try to “separate” you from the love of God: marriage issues .. family struggles .. work pressures .. financial challenges .. social & relational conflicts .. health problems .. accidents .. disagreements .. and on and on. Simply neglecting your everyday “walk” with Christ and how you are living out your faith can create doubts and anxieties over whether God still loves you. God knows us all too well and our tendencies to make Him second .. or third .. or worse as the daily priority for our lives. That’s why the love of God is indefatigably tied to Jesus. To another group of Christ-followers Paul prayed that they might “know intimately” the height–width–length–and depth of Christ’s love and that their lives would be filled accordingly. This is the great finishing work of God’s grace in your life. That you would live in such freedom and abiding knowledge of His love for you in every situation and circumstance. When you know that you are God’s beloved, you begin to live differently. It starts inside of you .. moves into your marriage .. pours into your children .. and begins to go room by room in every area and arena of your life. Jesus didn’t avoid people because it might infect God’s love. On the contrary, wherever He went, He poured out God’s love.  No one becomes somebody without the love of God. Because what holds them together will not last .. will fade .. and run out. In Christ .. nothing can separate you from the love of God. On the cross He made that forever clear. How are you walking into this day? It only takes a moment …

“Hosea put it well: I’ll call nobodies and make them somebodies; I’ll call the unloved and make them beloved. In the place where they yelled out, “You’re nobody!” they’re calling you God’s living children.” Romans 9:25-26 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
