He really means it …

March 22, 2013

“For if a man is in Christ he becomes a new person altogether– the past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new. All this is God’s doing, for he has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ; and he has made us agents of the reconciliation. God was in Christ personally reconciling the world to himself — not counting their sins against them — and has commissioned us with the message of reconciliation.” 2 Cor. 5:17-19 JB Philips Translation

It is all around us .. broken relationships in families .. marriages .. friends .. work .. neighbors .. and even in churches. No area is immune from the underside of love. And yet God has given every Christ Follower this ministry of reconciliation. Some are better at it than others. Some avoid any level of conflict. If you are going to follow Jesus, you will find yourself in “broken and dislocated” relationships. They don’t have to be a result of your actions or in actions. Sometimes your life is God’s commission for reconnecting other lives. It is all around you. God has commissioned the ministry of reconciliation in your life. He has commissioned His Body, the church, to be agents and servants of grace and reconciling love. It’s not an easy work and never has been. It takes the life of Christ to reconnect broken lives. God has chosen His Body .. You included, to part of His ongoing work of reconciling relationships. He begins with you .. and it only takes a moment …

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
