“…Timing is the Father’s business. What you’ll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the whole world.” Acts 1:7-8 The Message

You never know where “being” a witness of Jesus will find you .. or take you. Jesus intends for your life to be a living witness of grace and truth. It can happen anywhere .. a look across the street .. across an office .. enjoying a meal .. running errands .. making a presentation .. answering the phone .. sitting at a stop light .. in a hospital .. in a line somewhere .. interrupted .. inconvenienced .. irritated .. and a thousand other places in a day’s time. You will be “my witnesses”. That’s what Jesus said and that is what awaits you in this day. It seems so easy and yet we can find any number of excuses or reasons for stepping out of the role of being “my witnesses”. Maybe that is why this relationship is so intimate. It takes Christ’s life to “be” that witness everyday. Our days are full of countless pressures to stay silent .. not act on that impulse of grace .. to measure love .. and to just trust in myself first. It’s easy to get all twisted in knots about the Holy Spirit and what being filled with his life means. But to every Christ-follower, the Holy Spirit is the One who makes the words of Jesus come alive in me. He leads .. guides .. corrects .. empowers .. encourages .. comforts .. and reminds you throughout the day that you belong to Jesus. Will you make time for the Father’s business in your life today? It only takes a moment …

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
