The Love of Jesus …

April 3, 2013

“So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I am bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. .. Love never looks back … Love never dies.” 1 Corinthians. 13:3-8 The Message

What a picture Paul paints for the inside of your life. He prays that you will know the complete life-changing power of the love of Christ. He prays that every area of your life would be filled with Christ’s love. He prays that your life would be “rooted and grounded” in this love. He prays that you would know the unfathomable reaches of God’s love in Jesus. He prays a prayer that covers every inch of your life. He doesn’t leave one area of your life unexposed to this love in Jesus. This is the love that changes lives. It changed your life. It is changing your life today because Jesus “never gives up”. He “never looks back” at what your life used to be or what you used to do. His love for you “never dies” and yet it was his death that broke all the chains that kept you from His love. Every one of us needs this “infinitely more” love of Jesus today. We need it because the world we live in drains us. We need it because God sends us out to pour out this same love into others. We need it because God made us to receive this love that we are desperate for everyday. Jesus lived everyday on this earth with this love and his prayer is for you to know it just like He did. It is patient .. kind .. forgiving .. trusting .. and amazing. It never runs out .. and it only takes a moment …

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 New Living Translation

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
