Unhurried housecleaning….

“… but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away ours sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.” 1John 4:10 The Message

Only God knows how much damage is in your life. You .. like everyone else .. hides the damage .. denies the damage .. and often just tries to manage the damage. But Jesus isn’t like that with you. He’s cleared away the sin of what has caused you so much damage to yourself .. to your image of God .. to others .. and just about everything in and around your life. The damage is that great. The Death is that much greater. And the new Homeowner has moved in and is going “room by room” through your life, taking as much time as needed to make you whole and free from fear. Christ has moved in. He’s arrived in love .. is healing you in love .. and teaching you how to live in love. You can’t manufacture this kind of life. It’s what happens when you open your life to the One who heals and cleans up all the damage. You’re life is going to look out-of-place because of God’s love. But you’ve been Son-placed exactly where God’s love is supposed be: right in the middle of sin damaged lives ready for love. God’s at work in your life at this very moment. He’s going room by room and he never tires of clearing away the damage and isn’t surprised by anything he finds! Would you rather Jesus stay outside or move in? It only takes a moment…

“God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day — our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s.” 1John 4:17 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
