Infected lives …?

April 15, 2013

“I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are discouraged take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.” Psalm 34:1-3 New Living Translation

When Jesus moves into your life, you begin to learn the language and life of praise. It’s not made up or pretend. It happens inside of you in the very places where worry .. fear .. and anxiety used to live in you. Real praise is not about pretending or ignoring real problems and struggles. You find yourself praising God because you know that you aren’t alone anymore. Praise is part of God’s currency in this life. You can spend it lavishly .. share it freely .. and enjoying in others as well. It means your eyes have been opened to see the world through the gift of Jesus’ life. There is indeed a “call” on your life to pass on the generosity of God’s love through Christ. You will never outgrow it. Your very life is to be a message of this grace. (It doesn’t always feel like it and sometimes you may wonder if the Lord knows your situation.) A praise-infected life doesn’t mean run over others. You’re called to walk alongside just as someone walked alongside you when you were empty and alone. You may find yourself giving thanks a thousand times in a day where you once grumbled and worried. God hasn’t called you to be obnoxious .. but gracious. You already know three people around your life that need your prayers and your love. Even though you may not see them or have a moment to speak to them today , you can spend God’s currency on their lives. You will be amazed at what God’s praise does inside of you. It’s the same praise Jesus used with a few loaves and fishes. It only takes a moment …

“Through him we received both the generous gift of his life and the urgent task of passing it on to others who receive it by entering into obedient trust in Jesus. You are who you are through this gift and call of Christ Jesus! And I greet you now with all the generosity of God our Father and our Master Jesus, the Messiah.” Romans 1:5-7 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
