The Son … and you

April 23, 2013

“We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels — everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him.” Colossians 1:15-16 The Message

This faith that grips your life cannot be reduced to an opinion or a few words. Your life has been inhabited by a Person who now radically and forever defines your life and colors the meaning of everything you do. Yes… even the misguided things .. wrong intended .. and grossly deficit come to full light and meaning in Christ. His life defines what is good and acceptable. The world you live in continually tries to diminish the impact and truth of Jesus and his claim on every life that trusts Him. And rather than remain in the shadows, his life comes fully into view in your life. “Christ in you” changes everything .. defines everything .. and brings purpose and meaning into everything in your life. You can also be sure that everything outside of Christ-in-you will conspire to discourage you and dissuade you from finding your real life in this One who fills your life with hope. It’s not just any hope, but glory-filled hope .. God-filled hope that follows you faithfully through everything. No one and nothing can take his place. And no one or nothing can take you from his indwelling life. Everything of Jesus: His life .. His death .. His blood .. His resurrection becomes the whole of you. Your life finds your true purpose in Him. It only takes a moment …

“This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it’s out in the open. God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory.” Colossians 1:26-27 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
