God’s housecleaning …

“Yes! God has broadcast to all the world; “Tell daughter Zion, ‘Look! Your Savior comes, Ready to do what he said he’d do, prepared to complete what he promised.” Isaiah 62:11 The Message

God didn’t wait around to see if you were going to figure it out on your own. He already knew that you could never .. ever .. clean up your own life. He knows all about your good intentions .. good motives .. and good works plans. He’s heard your sighs and future plans about what you would do “if” and “when” you had the time and freedom to change. He’s not angry at you. He’s not regretting His choice of you. He’s not changing his mind about you. You belong to Him. He chose you. There was and always has been only one way: Jesus had to move into your life. He not only began but is even now cleaning up your life on the inside. He moved in when you accepted his Savior-sent promise. And He stayed .. cleaning .. cleaning .. and making your whole life true through His life. There is nothing secret about God’s plan. It’s out in the open. He’s working out of the inexhaustible riches of his grace and promise. Your life is part of his redemptive story. He’s not making you religious. He’s arranging all the parts and pieces. He’s making your life a place where His life is first and last. That’s the very spot where you resist and try to bargain with God. God isn’t ever going to just wink at your flat spots and smile at your issues and struggles. A Savior didn’t come to just clean up mistakes. He’s come to transform your life .. to give you a “clean slate and a fresh start”. It doesn’t matter how old you are or how many times you’ve turned away. Jesus isn’t going to leave you unfinished. In fact, He’s already finished the work. He’s just filling in the details. All that Jesus wants from you today is everything .. and everything is all that he has to offer you. It is the best exchange you’ll ever make. … and it only takes a moment …

“He’s going to clean house — make a clean sweep of your lives …” Luke 3:17 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
