If you think you are alone … you aren’t

May 13, 2013

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever … But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things … When the Helper comes, whom I will send to your from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth … He will testify about Me … But when He, the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth …” John 14:16,26 ..15:26 .. 16:13 New American Standard

The life Jesus offers you comes with a Helper. The Christian life isn’t a “life” you live but the “life” that Christ is living in you. That life began around over moments, around circumstances, and connected to events where your eyes were opened .. your heart was opened .. and you believed, trusted, accepted, surrendered, let go, took hold of, and placed your faith in Christ. You began through faith but you begin to realize that God the Father had started on your life long before you even knew it. Your life is now evidence of Jesus Christ’s great gift and exchange. But Jesus doesn’t leave you alone to figure it all out. He’s sent you the Helper .. the One who Comforts .. the One who Comes Alongside you .. the One who makes his home in you .. and the One who guides you and teaches you about this life you have in Christ. You can’t love like Christ loves without Christ indwelling in your life. You can try, but it won’t last. The Helper’s role is to lead you through this broken and fractured world, helping you to love the life that Jesus is living in you today. There are a lot of moving parts and even parts that become stuck and paralyzed. But God hasn’t abandoned you. Jesus has sent the Helper who brings grace without measure or cost. He leads you in truth .. a truth that points to Jesus and the faithfulness of the Father’s love. Everything that Jesus shared with His Father, the Helper is making real in you today. You aren’t alone. You’ve got help today. Why not use it? Why don’t you ask? And if you do ask … then trust Him to lead and guide your life. “The most immoral thought and insane idea is that God does not keep His word.” You aren’t alone today. You’ve got help … It only takes a moment …

“This is the testimony in essence: God gave us eternal life; the life is in his Son. So, whoever has the Son, has life; whoever rejects the Son, rejects life.” 1 John 5:11-12 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
