Walking …

May 14, 2013

“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him.” Colossians 2:6 New American Standard

What a life you’ve been given. Your old life was about you trying to be lord of your world. That meant trying to manage everything about you .. and sometimes trying to manage others the way “you” think they should live. But no matter how good you managed your life, eventually you became stuck. Because sin cannot free your life for anything other than yourself and the cycle and patterns begin to repeat over and over. But God had a different plan for you. He’s always known that no one .. no man or woman can escape an-alive-but-dead life encased in the life-support of sin. When you “received” Christ in your life, you trusted .. believed .. surrendered .. and accepted that Jesus would be LORD of your entire life. Some changes are immediate. Some patterns begin to change over a period of time … and you no longer have to be lord. You are free for the first time in your life to actually walk as a free man and free woman. You get to learn how to live forgiven and that is a pattern only Christ can teach you from the inside out. He is LORD of your life .. all of it .. and everything you have and possess. The life you live in Christ is indeed about walking with Him. The old you was incapable of responding with such love. The new you is alive through Christ and it takes his life to live today. Living without Christ is not living, no matter how good things look on the outside. Today does not begin with a list to follow. It begins with an invitation to walk with Jesus. … and it only takes a moment …

“When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive — right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean.” Colossians 2:13 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
