The last standing reality…

June 5, 2013

“For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor. 3:11 New American Standard

There is only one foundation that will hold your life up. The living reality of your life is that anything and everything that is not of eternal value will be smashed against the foundation that is Jesus Christ. You’ll be crushed if you try to make yourself that foundation. You’ll never be able to carry the burden of placing people .. things .. or any “object” ahead of Christ in your life. People try it all the time. They think that somehow “this” will be different. They think “they” will be different this time: more understanding .. more patient .. and accepting. Jesus is the only foundation that can support life now, two thousand years ago .. and two thousand yesrs ahead. All other foundations have faded or collapsed? He is completely available for your life. He’s not a figure who is far off or staying in the shadows. This Jesus .. the Lord of your life .. comes to radically restore your heart and your whole life. He is a Restorer of ruins. He is the Hope that stands when all other forms of hope fade. He brings you into a kingdom that cannot be defeated. What will be the foundation of your life today? Can it really support what you want to build? If you try to build on others you will be disappointed and maybe disillusioned. But in Christ, He makes all things new. That now includes you. How…? It only takes a moment….

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
