“It wasn’t so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live.” Ephesians 2:1-2 The Message

None of us likes to think or imagine our lives “mired” or stuck in a life of sin. We tell ourselves and each other that there is some “good” .. some basically decent ingredients .. something of useful value that lifts us above all the filth of sin. The Bible calls us children of wrath which seems so harsh and hopeless. And that s exactly what life is apart from Christ. But God .. whose love is perfect .. perfect in every aspect and angle of your life .. perfect in loving you at the utter ends of your life before you even knew it .. MADE YOU ALIVE IN CHRIST. That’s how incredible God’s love is for you. You were once sin-dead, even when you thought you were making your way through life. Jesus was offered everything of this world if only he would take his eyes off of you. Instead, he offered the only everything he had … his life .. so that your eyes could be opened to the LIFE that God offers you through Christ. It took his life to cure your blindness .. rescue you from a stagnant life .. and open your heart to the greatest love you will ever know and never lose. Whatever is before you today .. with Christ .. it only takes a moment …

“It’s a wonder God didn’t lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ.” Ephesians 2:5 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
