God is for you …

July 23, 2013

“God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son…” Romans 8:29 The Message

It is not a question: God is for you today. Privately .. many carry a hidden thought inside that God is “mostly” for them. They are usually aware of some unfinished area in their life and they just know that God is for them “except” for that one area. Nothing could be further from the truth in Christ. He is shaping your life along the same lines as His Son. It’s hard work and it is the only work that God is perfectly able to complete in you. You can’t do it. Even if you had all the resources you needed .. you still could not make your life whole. Jesus stepped into your world .. your life .. your mess .. your broken-dislocated-unfinished condition so that you would not have to guess if He is on your side. God knows what he is doing in you. He’s always known. He’s never been confused or thrown off guard by your life for one minute .. even one second. How much is He for you? He’s for you enough to make the Cross the loudest statement in all of history … life-shaping history .. your history. God is freely on your side. God’s freedom embraces every part of your life that is un-free. His life was exposed to your worst .. so that you might come to know .. come to trust … and come to rest in the truth that God is for you. The God who is for you today is the life-shaping gift of His Son. He’s for you today. And that’s a gift you can know .. keep in your heart .. and pass on at the same time. It only takes a moment …

“So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? Romans 8:31 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
