A God-formed life …

July 26, 2013

“God will form you as a people holy to him, just as he promised you, if you keep the commandments of God, your God, and live the way he has shown you. All the peoples on Earth will see you living under the Name of God and hold you in respectful awe” Deut. 28:9-10 The Message

He doesn’t hide his heart from you .. He doesn’t wait for you to figure it out .. He doesn’t wait for you to slip up. He could have. But .. He didn’t. Instead .. The Lord has told you up front what life with Him looks like on the outside and the inside. You live in a broken world. It doesn’t work on our terms and never will. There is not enough money to fix our problems or enough resources to provide the security we long for. There never will be. We are unable and incapable of filling in the missing parts of our lives .. and everyone has missing parts .. broken parts .. wounded parts .. dis-eased parts .. self-choking parts .. and contaminated parts. And yet .. Jesus still touches untouchable people with a gentleness .. kindness .. and mercy that demolishes the walls we erect to protect ourselves on the inside. Jesus still speaks words of grace .. forgiveness .. and restoration to anyone who turns to him in any condition. Jesus still heals broken hearts formed over days .. months .. years .. or lifetimes. He exchanged everything that He is for everything that you were. It was an all exchange .. all of you for all of Him. It still is. It is an All-of-Him relationship. He promised to never leave you or abandon you. He’s promised to be the enough for your life today .. tomorrow .. and forever. Jesus knows exactly how much you can handle .. what pressures you are facing .. and what lies are trying to defeat you. He stands ready to be your help today. His life is what holds you together. As the old hymn says: “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.” The Lord is making you whole .. no exceptions. And still .. it only takes a moment …

“And now to him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in his bright presence, fresh and celebrating — to our one God, our only Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Master, be glory, majesty, strength, and rule before all time, and now, and to the end of all time. Yes.” Jude 24-25 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
