Finders Keepers ….

July 29, 2013

“Seek God while he’s here to be found, pray to him while he’s close at hand. Let the wicked abandon their way of thinking. Let them come back to God, who is merciful, come back to our God, who is lavish with forgiveness.” Isaiah 55:6-7 The Message

The God of the Old Testament never gave up. No matter how much “they” turned their hearts away .. turned their backs on Him .. and turned to other god-offers .. He is found at every corner .. every turn .. and every wayward stopping place. And then there is your life: Same God .. same hearts .. same turns in the road .. same god-offers. This time He has fingerprints and leaves footprints. He can be found. Being lavish leaves a trail. It’s right in front of you. All other god-offers lead you away from forgiveness. The OT God becomes the NT God .. the Same-God. He has always made himself found. No matter how far you’ve strayed in your heart .. over miles .. or months. Jesus is findable. No matter how far you’ve wandered .. He is findable. No matter how little you’ve given Him your life .. He is findable. No matter how much has been stolen from your life .. He is findable. When you find him, you find mercy .. you find forgiveness .. and you find Jesus. He is the One-offer that offers you “All-of-Him for all-of-you”. It only takes a moment …

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
