Washed in the rain of His reign ….

August 1, 2013

“So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.” Hosea 6:3 New American Standard

There are moments when God surprises you with reign .. the rain of his indefatigable grace .. and the rain of his love washing you inside and out. There are moments and there are droughts where you wonder if He will ever wash over you again. The gift of His grace .. the indwelling gift of His Spirit .. and the reign of God’s Final Word over your life is the Gift that can never be taken .. can never be defeated .. and will never let go of your life for one second! Jesus loves you that much today. How do you press on when your life is pressed out? Jesus presses into your life with His Spirit. It’s His life that washes over you .. cleansing you .. restoring joy and gladness. When you are suddenly caught in the downpour of his reign you don’t have to run for cover. You let Him cover you with His life. When Jesus washes your heart .. you laugh .. you cry .. you begin to hear the sound and sounds of His Reign. Even the broken places in you begin to rejoice … and you can only shake your head in wonder and surrender at such a moment. It’s His life that washes you and rains downs into all those dry places in your heart and mind. It’s His life that makes you clean .. cleaner than you can ever imagine .. clean as only his reign can clean. It’s His life .. this ever-raining Jesus who makes His reign whole and real in your life. You have nothing to offer .. Jesus invites you to offer Him your nothing. He will fill you with his All. Your nothing and His All becomes “His all in all of you”. You don’t have to run for cover when his reign begins to rain upon your life. Let this Jesus wash over your life today. It only takes a moment …

“Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. .. Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness, Let the bones which You have broken rejoice.” Psalm 51:2, 7-8 New American Standard

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
