Growing beneath the dirt …

“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ…” Ephesians 3:17-18 New International

“The most foolish thought, the most insane idea is that God does not keep his word.” How does God do it? How does He keep his word when you are assaulted everyday to doubt the love of Christ in your circumstances or unfolding situation? This love that Jesus is making real in your life cannot be defeated .. diluted .. or diminished by anything. Your own thoughts and feelings will betray you but “NOTHING” will ever separate you from God’s love in Christ. Over and over again we find that the only way our lives are going to hold together is “in Christ”. Your life can only grow if you are being nourished (rooted) in his love. Christ’s love is the very structure that holds your life .. that stands you on your feet .. and that keeps you sane when the walls are breached. Without Him, you are washed away .. overwhelmed .. spiraling in despair .. and left feeling defeated. The gift of Paul’s prayer reminds us that this life in Christ is not lived alone but “together with all the saints”. God made you for relationships where he can pour out his love fresh and renewing. You need brothers and sisters .. Christ-Followers .. to remind you and call you to remember the indefatigable reach of Jesus’ love. God didn’t design you to walk alone or try to be you own source of renewal. We walk together .. alongside .. and connected through the Holy Spirit to this inseparable .. inexhaustible .. never-failing love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. It is a saving love .. dying love .. rising love .. and reigning love that lifts you up today. There will not be one moment in this day where the love of Christ will be absent from your life. Why not? Because He always keeps His Word! And when you see someone struggling in the world you live in today .. you can pray this very prayer over and into their life. And at the same time you are reminded that it holds true for you. It only takes a moment …

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love …. indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord!” Romans 8:38-39 New Living Translation

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
