Neighborhood renovations …

August 9, 2013

“God can do anything, you know — far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Glory to God in the church! Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus! Glory down all the generations! Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!” Ephesians 3:20-21 The Message

Jesus has come to make real in you .. all that He became real for you. There is that space in every man and woman, in your life, where your faith in Jesus and His life in you are joined with something stronger than your strength .. stronger than you ability to hold it all together .. and stronger than all your best intentions and purest motives. Jesus has moved into your life because there was room .. room for Him to love you at the deepest hurts in your life .. to reach across the widest breaches of sin .. to hold onto you with a love that will never let go .. and raise you up with the only love that will sustain your life. There is nothing apart from Jesus that can work in the heights .. depths .. lengths .. and widths of your life that can come compare with the love of Christ. God hears the deepest cries of your heart. He hasn’t missed one moment of your life. Your deepest disappointments .. your greatest successes .. your dreams .. your fears .. your hurts .. and your hopes are all found in His Spirit working “deeply and gently” within you. The world you live in paints this Jesus as less than He is and more than He never was. He is the Savior of the world .. “true from start to finish”. He will always be this promise in your life. He is Lord: “generous inside and out”. You can bring Him everything that has to do with your life today. When it comes to your life .. He is the only One who really understands who you really are inside and out. He knows because He became everything in you in one moment on a cross. And for what He offers you today … it only takes a moment …

“The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son. Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.”
John 1:14 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
