The way of the world or God’s way …?

” .. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.” 2 Corinthians 12:10 The Message

Your whole life: heart-soul-mind-strength is God’s workplace. God’s heart and purpose for your life is for Christ to fill everything about you. It is where Christ wants to take over. Your weaknesses .. your struggles .. your suffering .. your temptations .. your frustrations .. your strengths .. your marriage .. your children .. your work .. your hobbies and interests — everything! Your weakest places can become your strongest places in Christ. The world teaches you to master your weaknesses .. cover them up .. or point to something outside yourself as the culprit. But God does the unthinkable. Rather than dismiss you in your weaknesses .. He invites you to bring any and all of them to Him. He says plainly: My grace is sufficient for whatever you are facing today. You might nod your head in agreement and in another moment jump back in trying to fix it in your old strength. God’s not saying you should simple ignore your weakness. He’s just not disqualifying you because of some particular weakness or struggle you are facing. Apart from Him .. you will only get weaker .. frustrated .. angry at yourself .. at God .. or at others in your world. He knows how … where … when .. and why he uses some weakness in your life to lead you to the freedom of trusting in Christ’s all-sufficient grace. It’s never His aim to wear you down or defeat you. The nature of sin is to leave you feeling defeated. The nature of God’s grace is to lift you up into a new life of freedom through Christ. It’s His promise to make you whole and keep you fit. He is the Dependable One .. the Faithful One .. the Completing One over your life. Your life will “settle down” when you let Christ take over everything: the least places .. the weakest places .. and even the most competent places of your life. It only takes a moment …

“May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put together – spirit, soul, and body – and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it!” 1 Thes. 5:23-24 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
