Come back …

August 16, 2013

“I’ve wiped the slate clean of your wrongdoings. There’s nothing left of your sins. Come back to me, come back. I’ve redeemed you.” Isaiah 44:22 The Message

You’ve been invited into an incredible life. What else can you call it? God lavishly forgives you for everything .. for all time. Everything about God’s forgiveness is life changing. How you look at yourself on the inside. How you relate to others. How you live. For some, all those changes seem to happen all at once or at least very quickly. For others, life begins to change over a series of starts and stops .. a shifting of priorities .. old habits begin to fade .. and things once loved are exchanged with people loved deeply. That’s what happens when the doors are thrown open and Jesus moves in. He’s merciful: He knows everything about you .. everything you’ve ever done .. and everyone and everything you’ve ever loved. Jesus redeemed you: He’s purchased your life .. bought all of your life-debt and wiped the slate clean. He didn’t just overlook your mistakes .. wrongs .. and sins. He became everything connected to your life so that you now know just how lavish .. how merciful .. and how far God went to remove shame and fill you with joy. There are any number of interruptions and irritations awaiting your day .. with the hopes of stealing your joy. And sometimes it happens .. sometimes it happens a lot. But God offers you this incredible gift: “Come back to Me.” And that way back is always through Jesus. He’s promised to make you whole and complete. It really is an incredible promise that God has made to your life. God is working at this very moment in the deepest recesses of your mind .. the bruised and broken places of your heart .. gently calling you back to Himself. He’s calling you to an incredible life that can only be found in Him. Come back to me .. come back. It only takes a moment .. you’ll go out in joy ..

“Let them come back to God, who is merciful, come back to God, who is lavish with forgiveness … So you’ll go out in joy, you’ll be led into a whole and complete life.” Isaiah 55:7, 12 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
