Finding water where these is none …

“But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you — from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.” 1 Peter 2:9-10 The Message

What a mess. God has stepped right into the center of our lives with all it’s broken and moving-around parts. He’s stepped right into the center of your life and then speaks the most impossible words: ..”you be holy.” The good news all around is that it is God’s life that is pulling you along the way that makes life work. You carry an unusual title: chosen for priestly work. That is foreign to most of us and usually conjures up religious images. Instead, it is the image of a life .. your life .. called to let your life be part of God’s unfolding history all around you. Your life is to speak out for Him .. to “tell others of the night and day difference Christ has made in your life. Where does God step in…? You find him in all the disappointing areas .. the failed areas .. and in the ordinary places where you least think He will show up. There He is … reminding you and working into your deepest parts of who you are in Christ that you who were once nothing have become something in Jesus. You were living at one time and maybe secretly all the time as rejected and Christ has moved and announced that your life is completely acceptable in His sight. Salvation has come .. and your life is to be this living message of God’s blazing hope and new life in Christ. Someone in the world you live in needs this message. And maybe you need this message as well. It only takes a moment …

“As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God’s life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, “I am holy; you be holy.” 1 Peter 1:16 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
