What name do you go by…?

“You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11 New King James

A follower of Jesus faces today with this promise: God will lead you upon a life-filled path. There is no confusion on the direction of your life. Confusion does happen when we try to shape the path we want, and ask The Lord to bless it. Jesus showed us the path of his life. He chose the path of being a servant .. someone who didn’t demand to be first .. someone who everyone and anyone could identify with .. and someone who ended up with a Name so great that every knee will one day bow before Him. He didn’t choose a path you or I would want to live everyday. He chose the path that led Him into his Father’s presence. And it is the same path He desires for your life: to live and know the fullness of the Father’s joy. This is the life that Jesus longs for every man and woman who follows Him .. who trusts Him .. and who loves Him. It’s Christ’s presence in your life that fills you with joy. You don’t have to work for it. You don’t earn it by being good enough. You can’t keep it by trying harder. The path you walk may lead through difficult moments and stretch you to the very ends of your life. It may lead through very smooth places. But what you know is clear: whether you are walking on God’s path or you are making your own path. Whose Name is on that path? It only takes a moment…

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,” Philippians 2:9-10 New King James

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
