Adoptionable ….

October 21, 2013

“…And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name. You are Mine.” Isaiah 43:1 New King James

What’s so special about you? When it comes to Jesus .. When it comes to trusting in His life for your life .. and When it comes to knowing who you really are … everything! God has filled in all the empty places of your life with his adopting love. Your whole life is changed because of that “adoptionable” choice God made about you. He redeemed you. That word doesn’t mean much until you arrive at that point of having nothing .. believing you are nothing .. and thinking that there is nothing out there that can change your life. From God’s point of view, redemption is his greatest joy “setting everything right” that is broken between you and Him. If you’ve been adopted on this earth, you know what that means inside and out. If you’ve adopted a son or daughter, you know what that means to call them by name .. their name wrapped in your name .. loved and protected by all that you are. When God says “You are Mine” .. he is not letting go. He knows exactly how wide .. how far .. and how deep his love has to go in your life for you to know that you are his “cherished personal treasure”. It can take a long time for you to really trust that God means what He says about you. What’s so special about you in God’s eyes? Everything! It’s not because of anything you’ve done. Well, actually it is because of everything you’ve done. But even greater is the redeeming love of Christ who has claimed you when no one else would stand beside you. The only ones who share this indefatigable adoption of grace are men and women just like you … who belong to Jesus. It is a unique title above and below your name: Adopted by The Father .. Loved in the Son .. Filled with His Spirit. What’s so special about your life in Christ today? Everything. And for you … it only takes a moment …

“You only are a people holy to God, your God; God chose you out of all the people on Earth as his cherished personal treasure.” Deuteronomy 14:2 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
