“Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have the saying, “If you’re going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God.” 1 Corinthians 1:30-31 The Message

It is amazing when you think about it: God is using you to carry the message of His Son. He’s using your life with all your quirks .. fractures .. parts missing .. incompleteness .. and in-securities to reveal the life of Jesus. People you cross paths with everyday can look at your life and see what God is doing. It’s all really out in the open .. even though your tendency is to try to control what others see .. or at least explain what you think they saw. Those others around your life really want to know how “right thinking and right living” is possible. Jesus is the clean slate and fresh start of your life. You don’t get a second chance or a do over. You get a new life .. a new identity .. and a new way to live. People all around you want to know if this “new life” in you is real .. and will it last? The scary part is letting God lead you from “place to place”. You just never know where He is going to direct your path .. or what persons He wants your life to connect with His story. And your life is just this: a story of how God met you and continues to meet you everyday .. to lead you everyday .. and to give you all that you need to “blow a trumpet for God”. It’s not about drawing attention to you. It’s about God using your life to announce the greatest gift available today. And if you let Him .. He’ll give you the very thing you are longing for .. it probably won’t look like what you thought .. but it will look like what you wanted. “A clean slate and a fresh start” … everyone around you wants to know if this is real in you. Is it? If it is in Christ .. it is. And it only takes a moment …

“In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ… ” 2 Corinthians 2:14 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
