Usefulness …

“But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him. Romans 5:8 The Message

No one could ever conceive of a story of a God who sacrifices his Son for men and women of no use. It is so utterly wasteful. Except for you … God literally suspended his love on a cross to create the only miracle that could change you from no use to holy useful. You were loved that much. And that changes everything about your life. There is nothing in you that God cannot reach and change into something miraculous. Grace does just this: changes you inside out. You aren’t the same because of this “ultimate miracle”. You’re no longer alone .. trapped on an island in the middle of everywhere .. racing around trying to find meaning .. or having to find love in empty promises. God’s revealed his love out in the open .. even before you were looking in his direction. Amidst all the noise and distractions, Jesus stands quietly in strength .. his nail-scarred hands open .. welcoming you home .. and giving you the gift of grace .. faith .. and a miracle life. Without Him .. where would you be? And with Him .. where will He lead? The good news of God’s love in Christ is that don’t have to be in control .. always on the defense .. living clenched for the next wrong or problem. The miracle is Christ-in-you. He’s aware of all your flaws and flat spots. He’s more than up to the task of loving you perfectly with all your issues. Jesus knows how to make use of loaves and fishes. He is still in the miracle making business. You are walking proof… It only takes a moment …

“..Christ is God’s ultimate miracle and wisdom all wrapped up in one.” 1Corinthians 1:24 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
