God’s Business Plan

March 4, 2014

“And Saul just went wild, devastating the church, entering house after house after house, dragging men and women off to jail. Forced to leave home base, the followers of Jesus became missionaries.”

There are two plans in place. One plan is “this world” and runs off of people going wild .. dragging other lives along .. forcing men and women to live homeless inside of their homes. It is a plan that uses others to get ahead and leaves others behind. The other plan is God’s plan. He turns displaced men and women into missionaries because they are followers of Jesus. What looks upside down in the world’s eyes is the very soil where God grows hearts fully alive in His Son .. who love .. work .. and play in the name of Jesus. God’s plan brings you alongside others, maybe under their wings or someone under your wings. For most of their lives, people live in fear of others. It happens even among Christ-Followers. Fear masquerades with faith veneers. Faith in Christ wears the name of Jesus and hides openly for all to see. You may have been wild at one time: world-weary .. world-worn .. and world-deceived. You can lay your life on the line when you know that Christ has already laid his life on the line for you. It may have been when you were wild or when you thought you were in control. But inside you knew in reality that you were hiding and filled with fear that you would be found out. And found you were .. by the Master. Which plan will you trust today? It only takes a moment…

“Back in Jerusalem he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him. They didn’t trust him one bit. Then Barnabas took him under his wing. He introduced him to the apostles and stood up for him, told them how Saul had seen and spoken to the Master on the Damascus Road and how in Damascus itself he had laid his life on the line with his bold preaching in Jesus’ name.” Acts 9:36-37 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
