Thinking about today …

“..But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16 Mew American Standard

You’ve been given the “mind of Christ”. That fact and truth are continuously assaulted everyday in every follower of Jesus Christ. You have his mind. What did He think about? He was always thinking about what His Father was thinking about .. how his Father looked at the world he created .. how his Father looked at every man and woman he created .. what His Father wanted for you .. and how much he wanted you to have what he shared with his Father. You’ve been given “that” mind in Christ. Jesus is just trying to clean up your mind or help you think a little clearer. He wants to radically change everything about how you think about this world and everyone in it. Just think how patient the Holy Spirit has to be inside your life. His life in you carries no condemnation. He never gets impatient with you when you fail or stumble. He doesn’t threaten to leave you to yourself. He is constantly drawing you into an ever deepening relationship of trust and faith. The “mind of Christ” will always be confronted with choices. Jesus faced them and so will you. His choice was always what was pleasing to his Father. That even meant his life surrender on your behalf. The ultimate surrender has already been made .. but you will face hundreds and thousands of surrenders over your lifetime. Most of them no one will ever see .. except Jesus. And even today, you have this choice of setting your eyes on Christ or facing today from your perspective. The choices are real .. the battles are real .. and Christ’s mind and how He thinks in your life is real as well. Whatever you are facing today … It only takes a moment.

“So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.” Colossians 3:1-2 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
