Holy eye drops …

“Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. …” Hebrews 12:2 The Message

Your day will hold a lot of attractions and distractions. Some people view the day as a battle between good and evil that requires constant vigilance. Others view the day as a series of choices vying for their attention. For some, today is just a repeat of yesterdays that offers no let up from constant pressures. There are seemingly endless choices vying for your attention. Jesus helped a lot of men and women along the way to a cross. They were healed .. restored .. forgiven .. given hope .. and reminded that God had not forgotten them. Two of his most powerful words were: “Follow Me”. He told his disciples on the eve of his death to “abide in Me .. apart from Me you can do nothing”. The uniqueness of His death announces that your sins have been paid for .. in full .. forever. When you face this day, are you looking to Jesus? Is his life the foundation of how you are going to love .. to live .. to work .. and focus on others? When we look at Jesus, we are looking at how great God’s love for us has stood the test of time and the whole span of our lives. My sin .. your sin .. our sin. It required a Cross. It all got piled on the One Man who never did anything wrong. And He never uses that as leverage against your life. Instead .. Jesus says: “Follow Me .. Trust Me today with your life”. What is your focus? It only takes a moment …

“But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed. We’re all like sheep who’ve wandered off and gotten lost. We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way. And God has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong, on him, on him.” Isaiah 53:4-6 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
