Being known…

March 28, 2014

“I am not praying only for these men but for all those who will believe in me through their message, that they may all be one. Just as you, Father, live in me and I live in you, I am asking that they may live in us, that the world may believe that you did send me. I have given them the honour that you gave me, that they may be one, as we are one—I in them and you in me, that they may grow complete into one, so that the world may realise that you sent me and have loved them as you loved me.” John 17:21-23.. J.B. Phillips Ceraion

Jesus prayed an impossible prayer for your life. He prayed that the world “you live in” would believe in the reality of His life .. His ministry. .. His death and resurrection .. and the life-changing truth of His words through your life. Your life .. with all its incomplete parts .. broken parts .. and Christ-in-me parts. What does that look like? It looks like the scariest thing you can imagine: being known in Grace and truth. The following questions come from a Christ-follower like you. They are simple questions that can only be made real through Christ. “How many people know the specific places where you are susceptible to temptation?
How many people know the responsibilities that tend to overwhelm you?
How many people know the idols that war on the turf of your heart?
How many people know the secrets of your past that still haunt you?
How many people know the places where you try to find substitute identities?
How many people know the reasons why you might doubt the goodness and power of God?”
5 questions. That’s all. But their answers could mean eternity for someone around your life. In fact, it could be the path of real freedom and real grace for your life. It takes Christ alive in your life and your heart to give you the courage and grace to walk this light filled path. But maybe .. Just maybe .. He is calling you to trust him. It only takes a moment …

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
