You can’t keep dragging that along ….

“Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life – no longer at sin’s beck and call! What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ’s sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life saving resurrection.” Romans 6:6-7 The Message

At some point, you have to let go of “that” old way of life: how you think .. why you work .. what you think about other people .. and when you’re going to let Christ be in charge. The cross declares the end to your od way of living. And yet, it is (not funny) amazing how many Christ-followers continue to try to fit their old life with their new life. He died .. you died. He rose .. and your new life rose as well. You don’t fight your old way of life with self-determination. This new life in Christ is exactly what Jesus declares your life to be: a new life. He begins to change everything .. piece by piece .. room by room .. habit by habit .. thought by thought .. ALL the parts of you have been made new in Christ. His life in you is truly a resurrection life. There is no other explanation beyond Christ. And sometimes it takes a good amount of time to let go of that old way of living. But that’s okay. You aren’t in charge anymore. Christ is…. . Resurrection living is in all details. He’s alive … and that fact becomes the indwelling truth of how you are going to live today. It only takes a moment …

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
