Infectious freedom …

April 15, 2014

“Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.” Ephesians 1:7-10 The Message

And then He got up out of the grave and everything changed. The cross freed you. The grave let you go. When Paul says that Jesus thought of everything .. he meant everything that has to do with your life. And what he thought of .. he isn’t keeping secret. It is hard to believe that the God who created you .. came after you .. called you by name .. and claims you through His Son .. is the same God who doesn’t hide from you what He is doing in you. Christ is God’s plan for your life. Everything about who Jesus is .. is God’s long-range plan in you. The resurrection of a Jesus changes everything. A new life .. a new way to live .. the only way to love .. and the only definition of freedom. No one else can give you the freedom you long for on the inside .. and the freedom you need to live on the outside. The resurrection .. a life of freedom .. freedom to know God’s unwavering love .. freedom to enjoy Jesus’ indwelling life .. and freedom to live in a long-range plan called grace. It only takes a moment ….

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
