Everywhere you go ….

“Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder; inscribe them on the doorposts of your homes and on your city gates.” Deut. 6:6-9 The Message

God formed you for relationships. You were made to know how much God loves you. You were made to with the capacity to remember everything that God has designed for your life. You were made to live out this God-of-Angel-armies relationship in every arena of your life .. and pass it on to your children. The formula is fairly straightforward: God is to be the first and highest love of your life. That relationship shapes and forms all other relationships. The Lord told the Israelites to “write” his words on their hearts. Their very heartbeats would remind them of the God who rescued them .. led them .. and promised them to love them with an everlasting love. They were even to write His words on their homes. Their children would ask them what all this means because they would watch their parents live put the very words in their hearts and on their homes. They had a story: they were slaves and now they were free. That’s your story as well. Your were once a slave to something that kept you from being free and living free. Jesus set you free. You’ve got the same story to tell your children. It doesn’t ever matter how old they become. Just like you … they are prone to forget. You were made for the greatest relationship on earth. It is to shape all other relationships in your life. In fact, Jesus Christ becomes the definition of love by how he loved you. He’s got the scars to prove it. Because God’s love never quits … It only takes a moment …

“God remembered us when we were down, His love never quits. Rescued us from the trampling boot,
His love never quits. Takes care of everyone in time of need. His love never quits. Thank God, who did it all! His love never quits!” Psalm 136:23-26 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
