Becoming Real ….

May 12, 2014

“This, in a nutshell, is that will: that everything handed over to me by the Father be completed—not a single detail missed—and at the wrap-up of time I have everything and everyone put together, upright and whole. This is what my Father wants: that anyone who sees the Son and trusts who he is and what he does and then aligns with him will enter real life, eternal life. My part is to put them on their feet alive and whole at the completion of time.” John 6:39-40 The Message

It’s incredible .. really. Jesus has everything about your life in his control. There isn’t a single detail overlooked. And on top of it all, He has told you what His plan looks like: “put together .. upright .. alive and whole”. That’s a lot of parts and passages of time regarding your life. But if you are going to live a “real life” , you’re going to have to trust Him. That means for today with all of the connected and disconnected parts of your life. No matter which way you turn .. there is always ‘another source’ trying to convince you that your life would be better off with “this something” added. Jesus has promised to be your real life .. the life you want to live .. fully alive .. fully loved .. and abiding in Christ. There is a seeming endless array of offers that promise to make your life your own. But Christ offers to make your life whole. And all you have to do? Trust who He is and what He has done on your behalf. There is always a temptation to think that “I” have to “do” something. Trusting Jesus Christ today is the greatest act of freedom you will ever do. It only takes a moment …

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
