Except the Accepted ….

May 14, 2014

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matt. 11:28-30

When God does a work in your life, there are no exceptions. He doesn’t make exceptions for your flaws .. failings .. and fears. Everything is taken into account through Christ … everything. What you begin to discover .. first in this area of your life .. then in another .. and on and on .. is God’s acceptance. No exceptions … none. You don’t get to decide what God accepts. Jesus doesn’t invite you to accept Him on your terms. He doesn’t offer acceptance with exceptions. You are only accepted completely .. absolutely .. and unconditionally through Christ. No exceptions .. none. “Come to me .. Get away with me .. Keep company with me” and you’ll “recover and learn”. Your life becomes His voice. You become and “night-and-day difference” of a life accepted in Christ. The Holy Spirit has stamped your life with the holy ink of Acceptance. No enemy can erase it. What Christ has done on your behalf .. and in your life cannot be undone .. no exceptions. And all because you came to him tired .. worn out .. and burned out on religion! There is far more to your story than a few words. But there is far more of God’s grace for the story he is writing through your life. No exceptions .. it only takes a moment …

“But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.” 1 Peter 2:9-10 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
