How to apply…?

“So I great you with the great words, grace and peace! We know the meaning of those words because Jesus Christ rescued us from this evil world we’re in by offering himself as a sacrifice for our sins. God’s plan is that we all experience that rescue.” Galatians 1:5 The Message

Those words: grace and peace .. only make sense through Jesus. To make those words real in your life, he offered his life for your sins. Sin always leads to a dead end. It eventually runs out and leaves you empty on the inside. But greater than all the dead-end alleys and dark dungeons is the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is words that have finger prints and nail scars. Some people run from such images. Some people want to reinterpret this gooey. And some find their lives changed inside and out because they know they have no where else to turn. When they turn they find Jesus already there with “grace and peace”. Grace because God knows how long you have lived tortured and in darkness. It makes you suspicious and afraid to turn to the One who has the only power to rescue you. He gives you grace not because of how well you’ve done but because His promise holds true for today. You’d still be stuck if Christ hadn’t offered his own life for you. It’s not something you leave behind quickly, although once you’ve walked free, you won’t want to go buy. This gospel brings s peace to the hardest hit places of your heart. You’re no longer at war with anyone or yourself. It only takes a moment…. Even when Jesus is involved. ….

“God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating.” Colossians 1:13-14 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
