Gloriously Out of Balance ….

“… what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 The Message

There is no middle ground in Christ. You don’t set aside the parts of your life that you want to keep. There is no halfway point to stop and catch your breath. You don’t get to create the life you want. There is no life apart from Christ being your new life. You don’t get a choice of how much of Jesus you want to move into your life. Of course … many try .. maybe you too .. to manage your new life in Christ with remnants of your old life. The world we live in is relentless in trying to shape this sinless-crucified-risen NAZARENE into manageable portions. There is no faith or religion on earth .. in all of history .. that can compare to this God-of-Angel-Armies who took on fingerprints and became your sin .. so that you could find new life in Him. No one can compare and nothing else will satisfy your life apart from Christ. The world’s message is “balance”. Christ’s only offer is “a new creation”. Life is turned upside down .. inside out .. and completely new by faith in this Son of God. He has only one life to give you … His. And the rest of your new life is spent learning to love the life He is living in you. You’ll face battles over good things and battles over un-Son-like things. But the life that Jesus gives you is a life filled with His love and always a life given for you. Major Ian Thomas travelled the world saying over and over and over: “only Christ can live the Christian life, because He is the Christian life!” Why not start fresh today … it only takes a moment …

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” Galatians 2:20 Mew American Standard

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
