The First Things ….

“I thank God through Jesus for every one of you. That’s first” Romans 1:8 The Message

Do you see what happens when this “faith” .. this indwelling life of Jesus .. and his Spirit come alive in you? You find yourself with the time and space to praise God for the life He is living all around you. You can do this because this “faith” … the “foundation that makes life worth living” .. is giving you the eyesight to see The Lord at work. Do you see like this? Are you looking where God is at work .. the life of Jesus is being proclaimed .. and people are alive in Christ. You’ll find yourself affected where you work .. how you work … and Who you are working for. Praying is that part of your life that most Christ-followers feel like that would like to improve. By improving, it means that you are seeking The Lord throughout the day .. not just in the difficult moments .. and creating the habit of thanking God through Christ when you hear about the “this faith” bearing fruit and multiplying all around you. Thanking God is not just something you “do” at the end of the day or over meals. It is who you alive-in-Christ. You’re always seeing where God is at work and giving thanks. You were created to give thanks .. to live with a heart of praise .. and to spread thanksgiving as the seeds of grace. Where will you start today? When you begin, you’ll find your heart breathing new life .. being renewed in God’s redemptive work .. and being reminded again that this “work” is vital. It only takes a moment …

“We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you…” Colossians 1:8 New American Standard

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
