The Cross and You …

November 17, 2014

“For the word of the cross is to those who are perishing foolishness, but to us who are
being saved it is the power of God.” 1Cor. 1:18 New American Standard

This cross is freely received or freely rejected. To receive it, you’ve come to that place in your life where there is no way around it. It invades your life .. it stands in the middle of everything connected to you .. and it infects you with a grace that you can’t shake. To reject it, you say no to something so simple.. so foolish .. and yet it offers you everything you long for. This cross stands in stark contrast to the world’s solutions. This cross wipes the slate clean. Everything in your life that stands against you .. stains you .. and serves to make you less a man or woman is canceled and nailed to this cross. It seems so simple: a cross that stands for everything broken inside of you and offers hope based on God’s redeeming love. You receive it freely. And this cross will settle all the turmoil around your life. What will you look to today to make sense of your life? It may look foolish but it’s not. He won’t let go …

“Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross.” Colossians 2:14 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
