“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him …
John 3:16 New American Standard
Believing: an action combining strength and conviction .. and in the same instant weakness and uncertainty. Believing feels right when everything is going right. It can feel elusive and distant when circumstances assault you and call into question what you believe. Believing in Jesus, the One-of-a-Kind Son is an everyday action. Yesterday’s believing may face today’s uncertainty and drastically changing conditions of living a life of trust in Christ. God isn’t going to force you to believe. He’s not counting the good days or bad days of how you believed. The foundation of what you believe is founded upon God loving you and giving his Son .. his One-of-a-Kind Son. There is no one else like him who knows every choice you are facing or will face. There is no one else like him who promises to be the nourishment for your life. You don’t have to work to believe in order to receive God’s love for you. He loves you .. God loves you. The Apostle Paul would write: “for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.” While believing he suffered despair .. faced life on the run .. proclaimed Christ in prison .. refused to settle for a life detached from Christ .. and constantly lived with thankfulness for all that God had done for him in Christ. Believing is all about trust. Everyone trusts in something or someone. And believing is the gift that God gives you through this One-of-a-Kind Son. Today .. is Christ enough? It only takes a moment .. and He won’t let go …
“Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life, he who comes to me will not hunger, and he who believes in me will never thirst.” John 6:35 New American Standard
