The true real estate of your heart …

December 15, 2015

“and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.” Colossians 1:20 NAS

Christ was born to reconcile your life to God. He was born to make peace. He was born redeem your life. His whole life becomes a revolution within you. Nothing is left unturned or untouched by His life. Your whole way of life is to be shaped by His life. This is where life’s tensions begin to creep in because you begin to see where you’ve let the world define what living means instead of Jesus. The Lord never intends to make you outdated or out of touch. The most current man who ever walked this earth was Christ. And He intends your life to be the very same walk as He lived. The freedom of His life in you is made “peace” through His blood. You’ll still face those same tensions to replace Christ at the center. You can move out into the world you live in today with this focus: Christ has reconciled “all things” to himself. That doesn’t solve all the issues or answer every problem. But it does mean you can live your life confidently and purposely knowing that the cross is where Christ changed the world. It changed you. That very same cross frees you from having to find something that defines you. When the cross becomes the primary real estate of your heart, Christ has become your life. Gratitude replaces greed. Serving others becomes central to saving yourself. And love becomes infectiously generous. Let the revolution begin … It only takes a moment …

“But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world.” HCS

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
