Everything about you…

December 28, 2015

“God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating.” Colossians 1:13-14 The Message

It’s all about you. Everything connected to your life is God’s business. He’s not only interested .. He’s personally involved. He is a rescuing God. We prefer Him to be a victorious God .. a triumphant God .. a majestic God. He is. But … He is a rescuer because you needed rescuing. And in rescuing you, He didn’t leave you the way He found you. No .. He changed you from the inside out. Everything about His Son became everything found in you. There isn’t one aspect of your life that His power .. His rescuing power .. His saving power .. His restoring  power .. His sin-defeating .. sin nullifying power doesn’t extend over. That’s how much you mean to Him. Everything connected to your life becomes connected to Jesus and everything connected to Jesus becomes connected to you. The Cross? Just a structure that defeated and disarmed all those dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. There is one habit this rescuing God desires for your life: the habit of of you letting Jesus be everything that explains and extends over your life. And the moment it takes for God to do something like that? It starts now .. today .. and tomorrow. It only takes a moment …
“Everything of God gets expressed in him, so you can see and hear him clearly. You don’t need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything.” Colossians 2:9-10 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
