Learning new words …

“Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.” Philippians 4:13 The Message

outGrageous: definition: a kingdom word spoken, lived, shared, and loved by men and women who have been fatally cross-claimed by the inexhaustible riches of Christ. It is the resurrection union of outrageous grace. It can only be explained in Christ. Because grace is not simply a substance that can be formed by good intentions or manufactured by self effort. It happens in you when the Grace-One “makes you who you are.” And when that happens everything changes. Things don’t matter like they used to. (They may still be important, you just begin to realize they don’t have the grip on you that they used to..) Jesus arrived in your life with “unfathomable generosity”. His life .. the cross .. an empty grave .. and THAT moment when He moved into your life by faith changed everything. What is frustrating is how slow change happens when Christ is in control. But when it happens .. and it is guaranteed .. you don’t feel frustrated or angry at missing out .. you feel outGrageous. You are Christ’s living, breathing, speaking, serving, waiting, and trusting life of inexhaustible riches and generosity. And yes, it is way over all of our heads. As one Christ follower said: “if you want a religion that makes sense, don’t choose the christian faith, but if you want a religion that gives life, choose Christ.” God doesn’t have you here for his entertainment. He’s done the inexplainable: He’s made himself at home in your entanglements. Some are good .. some not so good .. some just leave you weary and worn out .. and some of them you hope. plead, beg, and sigh, that the Lord would take away or transform them so you wouldn’t have to deal with them one more day or moment. outGrageous living: living with a resurrection promise that you can make it through anything “in the One who makes you who you are.” And for God … it only takes a moment

“And so here I am, preaching and writing about things that are way over my head, the inexhaustible riches and generosity of Christ.” Ephesians 3:8 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
