It’s simple…

January 8, 2016

“being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” Philippians 2:8 NASB

The story is beyond your imagination. God, became you. He put on everything that makes you who you are. He put on your life’s history, family, background, sins, and all the broken parts that you’ve tiried to convince yourself you can work out …. if only you have enough time and “luck”. Jesus did all that by simply becoming a man .. fully human .. so simple. And yet there is nothing simple about you. Sin-stuck .. sin-dead .. Incapable of responding .. dead .. and yet trying to make life work. And God .. the Simple Son made you alive. Everything connected, associated, and identified with your life was forgiven and wiped clean. How simple was that? Just a cross … that’s all it took. A simple cross with a simple Son simply made your whole life whole .. forgiven .. complete .. secured .. guaranteed .. an indefatigable loved life. And then you realize that God never demanded one thing in exchange. He did it all and you are free to live for Him … today. It’s that simple…

” when you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive-right along with Christ. Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross.” Colossians 2:13-14 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
