Are you living free?

“The Son, though, has an established position, the run of the house. So if the Son sets you free, you are free through and through.” John 8:36 The Message

Your heart longs for freedom. Your life craves freedom. Your mind searches for freedom. The freedom Jesus is offering you is not a reward for your efforts .. not a prize .. and not a myth. He’s offering  a permanent freedom .. something that can’t be taken away. He’s guaranteed it by offering to move in and make a full ‘run-of-the-house’. It’s the kind of freedom you can’t purchase or earn. It is a freedom wrapped in a new identity.  He won’t force His way into your life. He wants the whole run of the house.  He even wants to create freedom in all the cluttered areas of your life. There isn’t one room or space inside of you that He’s willing to overlook. You may try to fix areas in your own strength … with your own design … and even on your own schedule. It won’t work … any of it … with you in charge. For many, the “freedom” that Jesus offers is one of the scariest offers they will ever encounter. He doesn’t ever seem to wait until you are ready. His offer happens at some of the most awkward moments and almost always when you feel so unqualified to receive such an incredible gift. The world you live in cannot offer you real freedom.  And you know today if your are living free in Christ … and even more deeply … if Christ has the run of the house  inside of your life. That doesn’t mean every room is perfectly arranged. You discover that Christ brings freedom in some of the messiest areas of your life. And so His offer is before you today. It’s nothing less than His life. And He really does mean freedom .. the kind that only takes a moment …

“God is love. When we take up a permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day — our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s.” 1 John 4:17 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
