What Jesus knows about you

January 29, 2016

“… because he will save his from people from their sins.” Matt. 1:20 The Message

You need saving. It’s not a word or image we like to think about very much. At first glance it seems beneath us. “I” should be able to make life work if only “I” have the resources and opportunity.  Every part of your life:  past … present … future needs the road-clearing love of Jesus. He alone knows what sin does to our lives. He knows that sin narrows your everyday living into a continuous self-centered management of life. We don’t like to think about it as such or examine our lives through such a lens. Sooner or later you will look for some kind of relief .. escape .. fantasy .. or pleasure.  You’ll even settle for something less than you know is good. Because it just takes too much work and effort to hold your life together. You may try for a long time .. even successfully .. to make your life work out.  Jesus alone knows you will never be able to work your way into any real freedom. While you plan and pursue a life with self-confidence aimed toward success .. He sees the real helplessness of any life apart from Him. He doesn’t judge .. blame .. or condemn. Jesus knew that His life was meant for one thing: to save you into God’s redemptive family.  He knows you will look for something to define your life and define your identity.  Every life that calls on the name of Jesus … that trusts in His saving life …that believes He is the Saving One … that receives the cross-nailed promise of new life in Him lives in the overflowing love of Christ. There is no One else who offers new life .. forgiven life .. whole life .. reconciled life .. restored life .. grace life .. and resurrection life .. than Jesus. His saving life is not the end. It is the wide open beginning of a life that was just beyond your reach .. until Christ cleared away the debris. What Jesus knows about you? He knows it only takes a moment ..

May God our Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you … ” 1 Thes. 3:11-12 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
